If you’re like me, you’re always throwing things into your suitcase at the last minute, making your bag almost impossible to zip up. I know I should be telling you how to pack smarter, but there are always going to be times when you can’t help but cram every little thing into your suitcase. I’ve come up with 7 items that you should definitely toss into your suitcase for your Labor Day travels. Sorry for being a bad influence. :/
The mini instant film cameras are so cute! Come home from your travels with memories that you can pin up in your office or put on your refrigerator. This minimergency kit from Sephora packs so many things into its pouch that may come in handy: safety pins, earring backs, stain remover, and more. A wristlet won’t take up much room in your suitcase and is perfect for a night out or for throwing into your beach bag. No matter if you’re going to a hot or cold climate, a scarf is always good have. You can never predict if your flight is going to be freezing, and there is nothing worse than being cold on a plane. I like to put on Pandora while I’m getting ready or hanging out and these portable speakers make the sound a lot better. I have found myself not packing any perfume lately, especially if I carry on, because all of my bottles are too big. You can pick up a travel size perfume bottle so it won’t take up much room and you won’t be smelly while you’re traveling. For bad hair days, hikes, or tours a baseball hat is perfect.
Have a great holiday weekend and happy packing!

Happy December! Nothing says festive like a little shimmer and shine. This holiday season, be daring in all sequins, or dress it down with a shimmer sweater and jeans. I am in love with this sequin cardigan from H&M. It would be perfect for a holiday party at a friend’s house, and I would go with this navy blue sequin dress for a cocktail holiday party. Madewell has some great shimmer pieces to glam up your holiday attire.

I like the look of an ivory chunky sweater paired with a shiny, silver skirt.
I cannot believe that it is already midway through November! Thanksgiving is almost here and I am so excited to be hosting it at my house. I got married this past March and my husband and I received a lot of wedding gifts for entertaining. I’m looking forward to using the gifts that we don’t get to use on a daily basis.
My mom came in to town the other weekend and helped me decorate our table! I had already picked up a few things from Sur la Table (napkin rings, a table runner, and turkey candle holders), so we just made a trip to Michaels and got some fillers to make the table look like fall.
When art, jazz music and unique architecture are mixed with skeletons, bloody ghosts and zombies, you know it’s going to be a good time. Downtown New Orleans is magical on its own, but experiencing the city the weekend before Halloween is one of a kind. Check out some of the pictures I took during my visit!
